Advanced Media Marketing - PMG International

Hawaii Small Business Marketing Quick Tips from PMG International Advanced Media Marketing Training

Show The Benefit - Provide The Solution
  • The benefits of your product will out way the features.  This is what you need to focus on when assisting your customer through the potential buy.  Once you have defined a consistent benefit to your customers you will find the niche of your company that you can exploit for your advertising campaigns.
  Determine Your Target Market
  • Not everyone wants what you have.  You need to find those who are looking for you.  Typical demo research (age, gender, income, etc.) Might break it down to first level but there are about a dozen sub levels to work.  Looking at social circles, lifestyle, culture, economic movement and trends are ways to further define who is your potential customer.
Backing Your Life and Business - Budgeting
  • You need to live, float your day to day business needs and market/advertise.  Balancing all that will be a task that is everyday.  Be extremely creative in stretching your money and be prepared to compromise the growth of your business. You will have no choice except to build your business gradually.  Don't come out of the box swinging with your money - budget your money and stay in your allotted monthly expenses.
Your Marketing Plan - You've Got Competition Out There - It's WAR!
  • Your marketing plan is your blueprint for battle. There are people out there that are selling the same product as you (or so they say) and they want the customers money too. Define the strengths of your company against the weakness of your competitors and you will find their soft spot.  From that research you build a flexible marketing plan around the niche that you have created for your company.  Only at that point you start to consider advertising and web development.
ADVERTISE!
  • Yes, yes, YES!  But this could be very ominous for those who are new.  Only after diagnosing, determining and developing your marketing plan should you even think about your advertising.  Young companies waste thousands of precious dollars advertising without a mission outside of thinking "so they know I'm here".  Advertising on traditional media (TV, Radio, Print) is still very important as is the internet.  With a marketing plan you will be able to execute precise advertising with the right message to drive those who are looking for you to your company/site as well as be able to measure the success of the campaign and change it up if need be.
Your Web Presence
  • Your website is now the final LZ (landing zone) for your customer.  Even if you're an on-premise company, they are going to look up your website as well as your competitors.  You get about 3 seconds to impress them with your site design and ease of information gathering.  The product, benefit, solution will revolve around the personality of the site.  Be objective when building your site as you were with developing your marketing plan.  Hopefully your website plan is more than just activating a sell but more like procuring a relationship with your customer so that the power of permission marketing and ensuing viral marketing take off.
